AI licensing deals.
Who is licensing content to AI companies, and what can those companies do with it? Compare the uses described in the public announcements.
THE PUBLIC TERMS, SIDE BY SIDE
A license to do what?
Compare the uses described in AI licensing announcements. Find a precedent for your own deal, see what remains undisclosed and go straight to the source.
Which uses do these licensing deals cover?
An announcement can describe one use and leave another unstated. Compare those disclosures, then open a bar to see the exact agreements behind its count.
Three uses to distinguish.
Train AI models. Use existing work to develop or improve a model.
Display content in answers. Show material, summaries or excerpts in AI responses.
Offer creative AI tools. Let people make new work through a licensed AI service.
“Not separately announced” does not mean the contract forbids the use. The same agreement may appear in more than one bar, so the counts must not be added together.
Sources and how the bars are calculated
Each bar counts announcements classified as expressly describing that use, divided by the 6 announcements currently shown. Content and company filters apply to both this chart and the detailed records. A mixed catalog can belong to more than one content filter.
“Announced” means the reviewed source describes the use. “Not separately announced” means the source does not expressly describe it. “Not reviewed” means this collection has no reviewed classification for that use. The original six announcements retain the publication’s existing source review until a later reviewed record replaces it.
Click a bar for its contributing records and original announcements. Source dates describe those announcements; the weekly edition does not imply they were all announced this week. Counts describe this collection’s disclosures and cannot establish the market’s value or the full terms of private contracts.

Read the marks as disclosures. “Not stated” does not mean prohibited. Uses can overlap, and a mixed catalog can appear in more than one content filter.

What is being compared
6 selected public announcements from 2023–2026, linked to their original sources. Permission marks use Copyright’s reviewed classifications of those announcements. The collection is a comparison of public disclosures; private contracts may contain additional terms.
What the record can establish
An announcement can describe a planned product, a limited catalog or an artist opt-in. It does not by itself confirm launch or cover every artist and use. Undisclosed financial terms remain undisclosed. These counts do not measure the size or value of the market.
How to use the results
Filter by content and either company, compare the separate uses, then open the record for its scope and source. CSV export includes the matching records. New records without a reviewed permission classification are labeled “Not classified.”
